Getting to Rotorua

Rotorua is centrally located within the North Island, and is part of the Western Bay of Plenty region. There are many transport options available when planning your trip to Rotorua including a variety of flight options from all over New Zealand, as well as coaches and shuttles that run up and down the North Island regularly.

Rotorua is a leisurely 2.5 hour drive, or 45 minute flight from Auckland, and a 5.5 hour drive, or 1 hour flight, from Wellington. The Rotorua Airport is only 10 minutes from the city centre and offers regular bus services throughout the day.

Rotorua does not have an international airport and we recommend our Symposium delegates to fly into Auckland International Airport which is serviced by several international airlines. Please click here to find out more.
