Hāpaitia te Oranga Tangata - Safe and Effective Justice Programme

This Summit launches the public engagement and starts to build momentum to explore possible solutions that allow people to contribute to the shaping of the reform, to connect and share ideas, provide feedback to government on how the criminal justice system could be different and to go home and take action in their communities.

Kai/Lunch and snacks will be served at regular intervals throughout each day.
Presenters will be announced in due course.

5.00pm Doors open for guests to arrive
There is a launch function at Parliament, Wellington with invited guests, Ministers and media


Te Rauparaha Arena Centre, Porirua

8.20am  Guests to arrive for a prompt 8.30am start
Attendees will be welcomed with a pōwhiri into Te Rauparaha Events Centre
   Attendees will begin with time for reflection as well as talking with others. A range of activities will help everyone listen to different people's stories and perspectives of the criminal justice system and take a close look at the system pressures and pain points. The day will finish with examples and stories of hope from inspiring guest speakers and the audience

Te Rauparaha Arena Centre, Porirua

8.30am Guests to arrive
  The day starts with a welcome back and summary of the messages heard on day two. Young people will speak about the hopes they have for a future justice system. Attendees and panels of experts will share good things that are happening now, and discuss what they can do to build on those things. Attendees will explore the future and imagine what they want to see change about our justice system. The day closes with attendees setting actions that can help bring about the change they want to see.
